With an investment approximately 50 million TL, Uyguner Leather and Jelyap s starting halal gelatin and collagen production in Balıkesir with Gelner. The global sector size of gelatin and collagen, which is known as the raw material of sugary products in food, is 4 billion dollars. 90 percent of the production in the new factory will be for export.

New Standards For Halal Gelatin Has Been Set

Gelner Gıda, which exports gelatin from Gonen to Europe, America, Russia, Southeast Asia and China, participated in the 8th Halal Expo Fair this year. Board member of Gelner Gıda Serhat Uğur Başyiğit emphasized that the SMIIC Technical Committee published new gelatin standards at the fair and that this development is of great importance for the sector.
